About us
To build a life insurance company around the idea that every individual counts, we did just that. At last count in the U.S., we had...
929,723 individual customers
It’s time life insurance companies start acting more human
That’s why we’re taking a “you first” approach. However, this philosophy is not limited to our employees and customers. We believe it’s important to be part of the communities in which we live and work… your communities. You shouldn’t have to carry a policy with us to benefit from what we believe in.
Our employees set the example
Each year many of our employees contribute their time and talents to a wide range of community organizations. And through an annual drive, our employees contribute financially to United Way. The Aviva Charitable Foundation matches each dollar contributed by employees on a dollar-for-dollar basis. The Foundation also matches employees, retirees and qualifying agents’ charitable contributions to qualifying educational institutions.
The Aviva Charitable Foundation
The Aviva Charitable Foundation was created in December 1994 to assist the company in its commitment to our communities. Currently the Foundation is committed to making a difference through grants to nonprofit organizations in the following areas:
• United Way
• Education
• Arts and Culture
• Civic and Community
• Health and Human Services
Grant Requests
For the calendar year 2010, the Aviva Charitable Foundation will review grant submissions once during the year. Grant applications should be submitted on or before June 1, 2010.
Please consider the following guidelines prior to submitting a grant application:
• Because Foundation funds are limited, we encourage only non-profit organizations who have received funding within the last two years to apply for grant awards in 2010.
• Grant requests are accepted only once per calendar year per organization.
• Grant requests that follow the criteria outlined in the application and are received by the deadline date, will be eligible for consideration.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors reviews grant applications, and letters of approval or declination are sent to grant requestors within eight weeks of the grant deadline date. The Foundation is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
