Aviva plc announced it will sell Aviva USA to Athene Holdings, Ltd. The sale is subject to regulatory and other approvals and is expected to close in mid-2013.

Athene plans to locate its US operations headquarters in Aviva USA's existing facility in West Des Moines. The new company expects to maintain a substantial employee presence in both West Des Moines, IA and Topeka, KS.
